Course description

This course offers an introduction into working with EU-LFS data. Besides highlighting the legal and administrative aspects of data access, the course will demonstrate the possibilities of the EU-LFS in hands-on computer sessions. On day 1, there will be a general introduction into EU-LFS. The practical part, on day 2, is focused on data structure and data management (basics) and retrospective data and panel analysis (advanced). On day 3, the focus will be on the multi-level analysis (advanced). For further information, please visit the LFS-Workshop website.

Target group

This course aims at postgraduate and senior researchers who are seeking to conduct research on the basis of EU-LFS.


Participation is limited to researchers whose organization has been recognized as a research entity by EUROSTAT. Before registration, please check whether your organization has been recognized. In case your organization is not recognized, you first have to apply for recognition via Eurostat.
A basic understanding of Stata and multivariate statistical methods is required.
